I actually started a post on Friday about some super fun funky running shoes that (function aside) I’d totally love to wear.  I’ll post that later :)

Right now I just want to share with you the comments we have had from our SPIBelt Virtual 5k.  I asked everyone to challenge themselves. Make this run ‘special’ other than just being another 3.1 miles.  Then I asked them to share what made this run special.  Here are a few of my favorites (who am I kidding, they were ALL my favorites!!!  So here they all are.)  More to come as the finishers finish ;)

  • ran twice today
  • Pam will you take my time even though it was .03 off!??? (and the answer is No Heather, I wont.  Do it again. ;) )
  • Was the last practice/training run before my goal race I had been training for–so it was my 1st virtual 5k before my 1st “real” 5k
  • 5 MRTT PTC/Newnan ladies completed this run tonight. Making new friends is the best.
  • First time pushing both kiddos in the double stroller!
  • I ran the 5k as part of a four mile run.  My personal distance PR.  I’m so excited to ramp up the miles.

  • It was my first run with moms run this town.  It was the beginning of my summer break and it was in honor of national running day!  What a great HOT day to run!
  • This was my first virtual 5K.  What made this different for me was that for the first time I:  ran my neighborhood, which is HILLY, and I took my boys along for part of the time.  They couldn’t hang with me running, but I walked some of it so they could b
  • This was my LAST race in the 35-39 age group – as I turn 40 this week!!!  So to end it right – I got 1st place in my age group!
  • First time runner doing c25k (w3d1) – wanted to see what my time would be if I just ran/walked it.
  • It was my 2nd virtual 5K and I set a PB (which I have since beat!!), but I kept running and I actually ran a 10K with a time of 1:10’22”, because it was the last run of the Bridge to 10K training program I was using and it was my first 10K. Notice I said

  • I ran this with my virtual running buddy Chandra who lives in Montana but is visiting her family. We’re still too far apart to run together, but this time, we were at least in the same state! And we both had on the same One Bad Mother Runner shirt
  • I live in Montana and my BFF/sole/soul sister lives in TX.  While visiting my parents in TX, she (Christy Johnson) decided to run our Virtual 5K together, virtually.  She lives several hundred miles from my parents so we couldn’t actually be together.  Bu
  • Felt so good ran 1.9 more making it an even 5 miler!
  • 3rd day of not giving up
  • 1st 5K trail run.  Placed 1st in age group. Ran with my boys mom and husband. A family affair!
  • Today was the first day running a transition run for my upcoming triathalon where I finished thinking that I’ll do well next month!
  • first 5k since my daughter Leah was born on April 7th!
  • Training for first half marathon with a friend and this was our longest run together.

  • This wasn’t my first virtual 5k, but my first on this route – i’ve recently created a new route for myself on a local college campus and it includes 15 sets of stairs (actually more than that but 15 in a row by some bleachers midway through) and many hill
  • Inspiration from all the breast cancer survivors I highly recommend running a Komen race its amazing to see.
  • I ran this as part of the second largest all women’s race in New England!  The special part was that I paced my dear friend who ran it as her very first 5k!!!

  • My usual town loop, but I just had to stop for a minute to chat with a lady who was walking her cocker spaniel—and her cat! Yep, a cat on a leash. Lady said they all walk a couple miles every day!
  • I made it up 2 big hills without walking for the first time on this run, stopped to pick up a  chihuahua puppy who attacked my ankle, and ate a bug at the very end!

  • I am not a human mom, but I do have “fur-kids”. I have two very energetic dogs with whom I do canine agility. Tonight I ran 3.1 miles with Murrie, a rescued austrailian shepherd. He’s a great motivation, and a wonderul running companion! Besides, the weat
  • YES!  – my 2nd and 3rd Ks were quick – my first and last killed my time :)  I am using the c25K program – and in week 4 I can do a 5K – so stoked!
  • First time running and timing a  virtual 5k with my daughter and some friends.
  • I ran intervals at the track for this run. This was the first time I tried track intervals as I am trying to increase my speed for a 1/2 marathon.
  • I was able to run for ~ 2 miles before taking a walk-break for the first time!  Then I only walked 4 blocks before running to the finish  :)
  • Good morning All!  I’m proud to submit to you my first virtual 5K!  It was also my first cross country 5K!  But I’m sharing this with you because of WHY I wanted to run this particular race.  It wasn’t because I needed it for training.  I already ran a 5K (I think this one got cut off :( Please fill in if you see this!! )
